I have a consult for oral surgery for my daughter, my car is getting an oil change and tire rotation, and the cat has to see the vet. My oldest has to sign up for spring classes, and that comes with a new round of tuition payments.
I recieved some paperwork in the mail for our benefit enrollment for 2013 at my job. Our deductible is going from 1500 to 2500. I pay 167 every two weeks for insurance, and 4 dollars for dental coverage. My insurance is pro rated based on how much you make per hour. It's a tier based program. My costs biweekly will be going to 178 dollars, with dental insurance being 7 dollars for a family.
I am blessed to be working in a medical field as a registered nurse. I'm counting my blessings that we have a source of income to provide for our needs. What I can't afford is for my deductible to continue to rise. 2500 dollars is a whopping amount of money to have to cover for a year. I almost have that much in my savings account (when you think about it, it is a nice chunk of change to have aside for an emergency). I did increase my 403B from 6 percent to 10 percent this week!!!!!!!!!
My girls went to the dentist. The cost for one was 152, and the other was 152+158 for sedation. The costs have been paid for in cash (well, through my checking account). I'm waiting to see how much the wisdom teeth extraction will be. I'm hoping to get this done during my VACATION from work (Nov 4th-Nov 16th), since we are staying home.
My cat needs a vet check up this week. My vehicle is going in to get some tune ups and oil changes (since I've been driving more).
I get paid this week. According to my work schedule, I have seven over time shifts between this week (I've all ready worked one OT shift) up to Thanksgiving. I'm hoping to get some more cash aside for Sarah's wisdom teeth, and maybe the savings account.
The heat hasn't been on yet. I'm waiting until November. We have some chilly nights, but there's lots of blankets, sweaters, and WARM BODIES to snuggle with.
I would take your health deductable & $178 every 2 wks over mine any day. We own our own business & have to have private health insurance. We pay $700 monthly with a $10,000 out of pocket & b/c of Obamacare (insurance words in the letter they sent me recently) they'll let me know in Nov how much more it's going up. I'm beyond disgusted & really any more & we'll have to cancel & just pay the penalty. Obamacare is even more per month. I've checked already. So much for it being the affordable care act!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess I should be happy for the costs. I couldn't afford private insurance at 700 dollars a month. I hope you are able to work out the costs and remain healthy!!
